Pencil on Paper

Summary:

After watching a National Geographic Documentary -Animal world of Kamchatka Peninsula, I decided  to improve my life drawing and learn the form of 4 legged mammals. I made the subject of the work a fox. I implemented a new technique shown in class that consisted of shading instead of outlining.  I put a major chunk of the time spent on this drawing just on the head and front legs of the fox.  Next time I will spend more time on the back part of the fox, especially the tail (it needs a better render for the fur).

The shading of the subject’s head stood out to me when the piece was complete. I quite like the contrast in colour to define the fox’s fur from the background.
