Pencil on Paper

Summary:

This piece was produced using the grid method. A grid was put over the reference material, and this same dimensional grid was placed on the canvas. This allows for precise proportions.  I’m proud of the beard and clothing in this portrait as they have been render very well.  The frontal hair needs a better contrast in tone, as the render is very bland and flat.
