Pencil on Paper
Summary:
In its early stages, the ‘Redemption Rabbit’ artwork had a very different look. Within it, a man was present to display the human aspect of schizophrenia (the focus of the piece). It was also practice for my human portraits.

I did not want to affiliate an individual, as this would have their face compromised on the piece. So to solve this problem I created my own fictional individual.
A downfall to the piece was the equipment used to make it. Most of the erasers and pencils smudged against the paper. To eliminate these errors from future works, I will provide myself with higher-grade utensils.
By using the character customization system with the Bethesda video game Fallout 4, I was able to create an anonymous face for the piece whilst giving the person realistic proportions and features. Having game engines generate anonymous models is an excellent method to produce reference material for future projects.
Though this piece was only a stepping stone in a much larger project, I was proud with the portrait as it demonstrated the correct facial structure and facial hair that I intended for the model.
